2020 Estate Merlot Sol & Luna

Winemaker Casey Hogan says this is an incredible wine, second only to the Poetica from the 2020 vintage. This is our first release with our new Estate labels (let us know what you think) and we chose to use the Boutes biodynamic barrels. Our Estate Merlot was wild-fermented in stainless steel fermenters and left on skins for 31 days. After pressing, these wines were aged for 18 months in one Soleil barrel (designed to emphasize tension instead of tannins and richness) and one Lune barrel (made with wood felled according to the moon phase). The wines were blended together to create a balanced wine that has aromas and velvety flavours of red and black fruit, well-integrated tannins, and acidity. Can cellar for 15+ years.
