2019 Estate Merlot
Hand-harvested from our Estate vineyard in Four Mile creek from a blend of old vines planted in 2004 and young vines planted in 2014. Various Estate Merlot cuvees were fermented wild in stainless steel fermenters and left on skins for 31 days. After pressing, these wines were aged for 18 months in French oak (25% new) before bottling.
Medium ruby in color, this wine delivers aromas of morello cherries, leather, and crunchy fall leaves. A medium-bodied wine with flavors of black raspberry, cranberries, and bitter chocolate. Smooth tannins coat the palate for a wine that is enjoyable now but will develop over the years to come.
