Marilyn Redelmeier, Proprietor
Born in England, Marilyn moved to Canada when she married Bill Redelmeier and together they have dedicated their lives to building a family, and a family business.
Marilyn and Bill launched their first incarnation of Southbrook Farms in 1983, selling 100% local produce at a roadside stand which later expanded into a thriving garden market. Their guiding directive – long before the “local” trend evolved into what it is today – was to passionately support and promote Ontario agriculture and local growers.
Marilyn continued to support and work with Bill as they evolved Southbrook Farms into a winery, and two pivotal events in Southbrook’s legacy coincided with the growing of their own family. Elder son Andrew was born during their first grape harvest in 1991, and second son James was born just before they hosted the first Feast of Fields event in 1994.
Marilyn took on a greater role with the move to Niagara. As the project manager for the development of the new Southbrook Vineyards, she directed the Architects & Contractors, helping to guide and manage the flow of this life-changing project, while maintaining her vision that Beauty, Art, and Creativity should thrive out of the intersection between Architecture, Wine, and Design.
