|Next Saturday, we once again welcome Silversmith Brewing Company to the Southbrook Great Room for the Third Annual He Said Beer, She Said…What?! This year, Chef Shawn Murphy of Farmers’ Table will be tasked with creating 3 distinct appetizers that not only pair well with our Southbrook wine, but with a glass of Silversmith beer. It is then the guests’ responsibility to vote on what drink paired better with the dish. We are pleased to welcome Tide & Vine to this year’s event who will be on hand providing guests with freshly shucked oysters. Music for evening will be from St. Catharines’ own Shore Thing. The evening gets underway at 7pm with tickets on sale at $35 plus taxes in advance or $40 at the door. Each ticket includes your appetizers, 3 wine, 3 beer and 2 oysters from Tide & Vine. Southbrook Vineyards is excited to announce the re-release of some of its’ most treasured Icewines! Back on the shelves is the fan favourite and last year’s Niagara Icewine Festival Selection, the 2013 Cabernet Franc Icewine. New to retail and the tasting bar is the 2006 Vidal Icewine. Quantities of the 2013 Cabernet Franc are extremely limited and will make the perfect gift for any icewine lover. Within the next few months, Southbrook will be releasing the 2014 Vidal Icewine, another icewine you will not want to miss! Stay tuned for release details!
This coming Thursday, Chef Shawn is proud to prepare his final Oak Room Dinner of the year. This month, Chef will be serving a variety of different cuts from a local pig in his first ever Oak Room nose to tail menu. |We are heading into the second weekend of Wineries Of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s Taste The Season, and it is safe to say our pairing of Canadian Framboise with Duck Rillette and Berry Compote is a hit! Monday saw our retail store with little to no Framboise left, so we have made sure the shelves are well-stocked for the coming weekend. Taste The Season runs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in November and passes can be purchased through Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s website. Passes are $48 plus taxes and allows to visit each of the participating wineries once to enjoy their unique and specialized pairings. |On the topic of upcoming holidays, enjoy a bottle of Southbrook wine this season alongside a cut of Southbrook Lamb. Linc Farm is excited to announce that they are now taking orders for lamb! Orders can be placed for a whole (~45lb) or half lamb, both at $8.99/lb. All Southbrook Lamb is born and raised humanely on property with minimal intervention. They spend their entire lives outdoors, feeding from Southbrook’s certified Organic and Biodynamic pastures as they fertilize the vineyard and help to promote biodiversity. This weekend, the Great Room will once again house Farmers’ Table @Southbrook as Chef brings two new dishes to his menu. This week’s feature is Farmers' Table House Made Ragu. Made with Cavatelli Noodles, Organic Black Angus Beef, Pork, Lamb & Preserved Local Tomato Sauce, Chef’s Ragu is the perfect meal to begin a day of wine tasting with. Chef has also prepared a vegetarian option of this soon to be favourite dish. A second new edition is the Farmers’ Table Minestrone Soup. This week’s hearty soup starts with a tomato base and is loaded with Southbrook Heirloom vegetables with prosciutto thrown in for your protein.
