This is a high-toned, multi-dimensional, floral expression of Niagara Gamay. Transparent rudy in colour, with a variety of fresh red berry, white flowers and hint of earthy cocoa foundation. Light to medium body, initially with silky texture, replay of tangy red berry fruit and just enough tannin for structure and length. With time in the glass, the midpalate shows more plump, ripe cherry, pinot-like character. This mouth-watering wine will be best enjoyed at 15 to 18 degrees, with appetizers of dried meat, deluxe burgers, pizza/pasta with red sauce and roasted chicken.
Third leaf vines produced a tiny crop in the droughty 2016 vintage. Hand-harvested from Heather Laundry’s organic ‘Home’ vineyard in Vinemount Ridge.
