2007 Chardonnay

Oct 18, 2010

2007 Triomphe Chardonnay VQA

$21.95 / 750ml (Ontario Price Shown)

Wine Lovers' Notes:

In the Glass

Ripe apples and pears greet the nose with underlying notes of citrus, a touch of melon and spice notes of vanilla and cloves. A lively yet smooth texture in the mouth with a lingering finish of apples and spice. The crisp acidity should allow for excellent aging.

In Print

91 points - "This is a full bore Chardonnay very much in Southbrook's barrel heavy Burgundian style. It is bright yellow with a smoky, cashew, lemon and dried pear nose. Medium-full bodied, warm and brisk with excellent length. Some heat and coarseness on the finish. Fine to drink now with grilled and smoked meats, but should also age for at least 5 years".
- David Lawrason, WineAlign.com

90 points
- "The super hot 2007 summer helped boost the fruit in this potent chardonnay. Rich aromas of buttery apple, summer lime and peach lead into smooth and mellow flavours, brimming with ripe pear and spicy golden apple depth. Big and bold.”
Gord Stimmell, Toronto Star

5 stars! - “A fine Ontario Chardonnay. Straw coloured with an intense nose of lychee, tropical fruit and toasty oak; full-bodied, well structured, fleshy but elegant with caramel and citrus flavours and a nutty finish.”
–Tony Aspler, tonyaspler.ca

In your Life

A perfect match with a rich seafood dish. Wow! Also works with creamy pasta like a Chicken Alfredo. Don't forget grilled or roast chicken and turkey. Definite cellaring potential.
