Wine Lovers' Notes:
In the Glass
Nose presents huge blackberry fruits, leather and cigar-box, dried cherry and figs, black cassis, cedar and subtle baking spice. The mouth-watering palate replays the nose and is framed by substantial fine tannins and impressive broad finish. The wine exemplifies the greatness of this vintage.

"Although Southbrook is now organic/biodynamic, the home vineyards had not been certified until 2008... There is a slightly gamy note with herbal, lead pencil and blackcurrant fruit. It's midweight, slim and greenish on the finish. Very good length. Best 2012 to 2016".
- David Lawrason, WineAlign.com
4 stars - "The rampant hype surrounding the 2007 vintage in Niagara celebrated a number of sweet California-style wines that I suspect will be too oaky and alcoholic when the fruit fades. The contrast is well-made, gutsy red blends like this, which shows the ripeness of the vintage without losing sight of focus, freshness and finesse. There's seamless integration here, which suggests that this impressively deep, silky textured and layered blend won't lose any of its charm as it develops over time".
- Chris Waters, Vines Magazine
"Colour: Deep ruby. Nose: Bordeaux-like nose, cedar and cassis. Taste: Dry, tobacco and red berry flavours; a little blunt on the finish. Drinkability: Hold (short term)".
