2006 Cabernet Franc Icewine VQA
$49.95 / 375ml (Ontario Price Shown)
Gold Medal — International Wine Challenge 2009 (London, UK)
Wine Lovers' Notes:
In the Glass
Clean and intense and red! Complex nose of strawberry, cranberry and rhubarb. Some spice and pepper also work their way through the intensity. Pleasing acidity forms a backdrop to highlight the fruit and keeps the sweetness in balance. A long, clean, flavourful finish.
In Print
"Cab Franc icewine often loses some varietal character as it morphs into strawberry jam like sweetness. This one stays Cab Franc all the way, with clearly defined peppery, tobacco and currant-like fruit. Full bodied, sweet and a bit hot on the finish – even-handed with a very peppery finish. Excellent length". - David Lawrason, WineryToHome.com
"Tawny colour, nose of summer pudding, redcurrants and blackcurrants. Sweet palate, full of fruit, texture of liquid honey. Delicious length, astringency of tannins stops it clinging". - International Wine Challenge
